Warrior 10 Fundraising

Hannah attends a local bootcamp and they were celebrating 10 years of Warrior Fitness in 2024. The coach, Matt is always keen to give back so Hannah mentioned House Project. What came next was hard to believe.
The donations received meant that we were able to put together “New Home Starter Packs” filled with new essential household items for each of our young people on Cohort 1. We also received car/van loads of donations of good quality second hand furniture meaning that when our young people move, they can maximise their Leaving Care Grant.
The generosity of my fellow boot campers is hard to put into words so here are some pictures…

Young people tell us that the House Project approach helps significantly, but we should never underestimate the enormous challenges they face at such a critical time in their lives. This reality was brought home to us recently with Sue’s decision to swap her working life at NHP for retirement caring for her new granddaughter two days a week. Even though Sue is fully in control of this decision-making process - something our young people often are not - the transition has still been discombobulating; letting go of something she enjoys and that has defined her, and moving on to something that will be incredibly rewarding and joyous.
